Sustainability

OPUS Print Group takes sustainability very seriously.

We recognise that different companies are better at different things, be it environmentally friendly processes or community involvement. We share resources and experiences across the group to ensure we have a positive impact on the world around us.
What's more, we encourage our companies to work with suppliers that operate with socially and environmentally responsible policies.

OPUS Print Group takes full responsibility for identifying as many adverse environmental impacts associated with our activities, products and services as we can. We implement management systems compatible with international industry standards that include targets, monitoring of performance and auditing.

The actual physical measures we take are as varied as they are many: recommending paper stocks which come from sustainable forests, stocking biodegradable vinyl, using vegetable based inks and implementing environmental manufacturing policies are but a few of them.

For example, Ligare has appointed a Sustainability Manager who is tasked with improving the carbon footprint and sustainability of Ligare, whilst also presenting seminars to inform customers on their ability to make environmental choices. Omnigraphics New Zealand is also right behind the launch of Change the World for Fifteen Bucks, a book featuring 50 simple everyday actions that can make our planet and the people in it much happier (this book has sold over a million copies worldwide). Further examples are provided in the documents below.

OPUS Print Group also encourages its companies to support charitable organisations. For example, Ligare is a long time supporter of groups including Careflight, The Leukaemia Foundation and Rotary. Cactus Imaging also actively supports charities such as The George Gregan Foundation and Camp Quality. Recently, Ligare was a sponsor in the latest ASX/ Thomson Reuters Charity Regatta which raised over $60,000 for 27 different charitable organisations.
